Medical Detox, Diagnostics and Longevity
About Chenot Palace Weggis
Chenot Palace Weggis is a medical wellness and detox retreat set directly on the shores of Lake Lucerne, with the Swiss Alps rising behind it. The retreat opened in 2021 and has been recognised as home to the World's Best Detox Programme for five consecutive years — a credential that reflects the depth and consistency of the Chenot Method®.
The Chenot Method® was developed over 50 years and integrates principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern diagnostic tools and clinical therapies. Every stay begins with in-depth consultations and diagnostic testing that shape an individual programme built around nutrition, movement, treatments and recovery. A team of over 100 specialists — doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and bio-energetic practitioners — delivers the programmes across a 5,000sqm medical spa.
Programmes cover detoxification, stress recovery, sleep regulation and longer-term health optimisation, all within a lakeside setting that balances clinical precision with restorative calm.

The Chenot Method®
The Chenot Method® sits at the heart of every stay at Chenot Palace Weggis. Developed over 50 years, it looks at how nutrition, therapies, movement and rest work together to support the body's natural capacity for balance and repair — rather than offering standalone treatments in isolation.
Every stay begins with in-depth consultations and diagnostic testing. The results shape a personalised programme covering nutrition, therapeutic interventions and recovery sequencing, with progress monitored throughout. The method draws on principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine alongside modern clinical assessment, supporting shifts in metabolism, energy regulation and detoxification pathways that extend beyond the stay itself.
Hotel Facilities
Chenot Palace Weggis sits directly on Lake Lucerne at the foot of Mount Rigi in Weggis, 45 minutes from Zurich. The lakeside gardens run down to the water with walking paths and views across to the surrounding peaks. An outdoor heated pool overlooks the lake, with private beach access and seating alongside. Hiking and Nordic walking start from the door, with cycling, tennis, swimming and boating on Lake Lucerne available.
Wellness Facilities
The medical spa runs to 5,000sqm and 97 treatment rooms across six specialist departments.
The Medical Department holds two diagnostics rooms, six doctor consultation rooms and five dietitian rooms, alongside intravenous and ozone therapy, hydrocolon and energetic treatment rooms. Epigenetic testing is carried out here. The Human Performance Department covers a metabolic lab, body composition analysis, digital infrared and postural analysis, physiotherapy and osteopathy, photobiomodulation, an altitude chamber and a whole body cryochamber at -110°C.
Hydrotherapy is the largest single area, with ten hydrotherapy rooms, ten phytomud-wrap rooms and seven hydro-jet rooms. Twenty-five massage rooms handle facial and body treatments, with cosmetic medicine and advanced technology rooms in a separate Medical Aesthetic Department. The Sport and Fitness Department has a fitness studio covering cardiovascular, functional, strength and stretching, a multi-purpose studio for yoga, Pilates and group classes, a 20-metre indoor pool, two saunas and a steam room. Quiet relaxation areas sit throughout for the gaps between sessions.
Dining
Nutrition sits at the centre of the Chenot Method®. Most programmes follow the Chenot Diet® — a plant-based, fasting-mimicking protocol of 850 calories across three meals a day, designed to put the body into a fasted state while still providing nourishment. No snacks between meals, no animal protein, no caffeine. Dishes are prepared using organic seasonal ingredients with minimal processing. The Body Insights and Optimisation programme does not follow the diet.
The Tea Lounge serves herbal infusions and organic green blends through the day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Chenot Method® and what makes Chenot Palace Weggis distinctive?
The Chenot Method® is a structured approach to health and detoxification developed over 50 years, combining principles from Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern diagnostics and clinical therapies. At Chenot Palace Weggis, the method is delivered within a 5,000sqm medical spa overlooking Lake Lucerne, supported by over 100 specialists including doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and bio-energetic practitioners. As a medically supervised detox retreat in Switzerland, the Advanced Detox programme has been recognised as the World's Best Detox Programme for five consecutive years.
What wellness programmes are available at Chenot Palace Weggis?
Chenot Palace Weggis offers signature programmes including Advanced Detox, Recover & Energise, Prevention & Ageing Well, and Sleep Cycles. Each programme is tailored following in-depth diagnostic consultations and assessments, and may support goals including detoxification, energy restoration, stress recovery, sleep regulation, metabolic balance, and overall health maintenance. All programmes follow the Chenot Method® with structured daily schedules shaped around diagnostics, nutrition, treatments, and recovery.
What treatments and diagnostics are included in Chenot programmes?
Programmes at Chenot Palace Weggis begin with detailed diagnostic assessments, which may include epigenetic profiling, metabolic testing, and bio-energetic evaluation. Depending on the programme and individual needs, treatments may include acupuncture, hydrotherapy, lymphatic drainage, body treatments, nutritional therapies, and selected medical or aesthetic interventions. All treatments are carefully sequenced and coordinated across specialist departments - including Human Performance, Sports & Fitness, Hydrotherapy, and Medical Aesthetics - to support the body's natural detoxification and recovery processes.
How long should my stay be to get benefits?
Chenot Palace Weggis offers programmes from five nights upwards. The Body Insights and Optimisation programme is available as a five-night stay, designed to provide an introduction to the Chenot Method® with diagnostic assessments, personalised consultations, and foundational treatments. However, most signature programmes - including the Advanced Detox, Recover & Energise, and Prevention & Ageing Well - require a minimum of seven nights to allow time for measurable shifts in energy, metabolism, and overall physiological balance. Longer stays provide a more in-depth focus on detoxification, recovery, or health optimisation, with many guests choosing 10- to 14-night programmes for more comprehensive results.
When is the best time to visit Chenot Palace Weggis?
Chenot Palace Weggis is open year-round, and programmes remain consistent across all seasons. Warmer months (May to September) offer outdoor access to the lakeside gardens, heated outdoor pool, and walking routes along Lake Lucerne. Cooler months provide a quieter, more introspective atmosphere that suits focused, retreat-style stays. The choice of season depends on personal preference rather than programme availability or effectiveness.
What kind of diet is followed at Chenot Palace Weggis?
All programmes follow the Chenot Diet®, a plant-based, fasting-mimicking protocol delivering 850 calories per day. The diet is designed to activate the body's natural detoxification processes while supporting cellular repair and metabolic balance. Meals are prepared with organic, seasonal ingredients and minimal processing to preserve nutrients, and are carefully coordinated with treatment schedules to complement the wider programme. Despite the controlled calorie intake, dishes are thoughtfully presented and flavourful.
What facilities are available beyond treatments?
In addition to 97 treatment rooms across specialist wellness departments, Chenot Palace Weggis offers an indoor swimming pool, an outdoor heated pool overlooking the lake, private beach access, and lakeside gardens with walking paths and quiet seating areas. Fitness and movement studios support tailored exercise programming, while thermal and hydrotherapy facilities include contrast experiences designed to support circulation and recovery. The retreat also provides quiet relaxation spaces throughout for rest between scheduled treatments and consultations.
Is Chenot Palace Weggis suitable for solo travellers?
Yes. Many guests attend Chenot Palace Weggis on their own, drawn by the retreat's focus on individual health goals, structured daily routines, and professional guidance. The environment is discreet, calm, and minimally social, making it well suited to solo travellers seeking a results-oriented, medically supervised stay. Privacy is prioritised throughout, and the structured nature of the programmes means guests follow their own schedules rather than participating in group activities.
