What are the best wellness retreats in India?

When is the best time to visit India for a wellness retreat?

It depends on the region. October to March is the most popular period overall, with cooler, drier conditions in both the Himalayas and Kerala. For Ayurveda in Kerala, the monsoon season (June to September) is traditionally considered the most effective time for detox and cleansing treatments. India is also an excellent winter sun wellness destination, particularly in the south.

Are wellness retreats in India suitable for solo travellers?

Yes. India is one of the most popular destinations for solo wellness travel. The personalised, practitioner-led nature of Ayurvedic programmes makes them naturally well suited to independent travellers.
