The ZEM Method
The ZEM Method is the framework behind every programme, built on four pillars — the ZEM Clinic for medical assessment and treatment, ZEM Wellness & Spa for restorative therapies, ZEM Nutrition and Finca Althaya for personalised Mediterranean food, and a Mediterranean lifestyle pillar covering sleep, movement and time outdoors.
Every programme begins with a diagnostic assessment. The ZEM Diagnostic Lab maps physical, metabolic, cardiovascular and cognitive health through eight assessments — vital signs, an advanced electrocardiogram, body composition, a 3D body scan, heart rate variability, grip strength, facial skin health and mental performance. The results are reviewed in a medical consultation and shape the treatments, nutrition and exercise that follow, with progress measured through the stay and a plan to continue at home.
Hotel Facilities
ZEM is set on a 40,000sqm estate in Altea Hills, with Mediterranean architecture, natural materials and a layout designed around rest, shade and natural light. Heated outdoor pools and an open-air spa sit within 10,000sqm of landscaped gardens, with quiet areas for reading and terraces looking out over the bay of Altea.
Each guest is assigned a ZEM Master, a personal concierge who coordinates the stay from arrival. A private cinema lounge, the ZEM Boutique stocking ZEM's own supplements and skincare, and a private helipad are also on site. Cooking workshops through the ZEM Culinary Academy, guided walks and visits to Finca Althaya for yoga, hiking and farm-to-table experiences run alongside the programme.
Wellness Facilities
ZEM Wellness & Spa covers 4,000sqm and is the only destination in Europe to bring seven Metawell® systems together in one space, alongside traditional rituals and manual therapies. Facilities include a hammam, a Himalayan salt cabin, a snow cabin at –5°C, cryotherapy and a hyperbaric chamber, with three thermal circuits — Detox, Therapeutic and Sensory Relaxation — moving between bio-sauna, dry and infrared saunas, a steam room, a hydrojet pool and contrast baths.
Signature treatments include the Mediterranean Longevity Ritual, Watsu® aquatic therapy, the Sahara Hammam Ritual and the Neuro Relax Ritual using Welnamis neuroacoustic technology. Facials include Hydrafacial® and INDIBA® radiofrequency. Fitness begins with a functional assessment, followed by personal training, strength and cardio sessions, mat and machine Pilates, aqua cycling and sports rehabilitation, with yoga, mindfulness and breathwork sessions alongside.
The ZEM Clinic has 32 consultation rooms covering longevity and integrative medicine, genomic medicine, cardiology, neurology and cognitive health, psychology, urology, dermatology and aesthetics, physiotherapy and bio-dentistry, led by clinic director Dr Carlos Gutiérrez.
Dining
Salvia restaurant, led by executive chef Javier Díaz Esterri, serves contemporary Mediterranean cuisine designed in collaboration with ZEM's nutrition team. Menus are anti-inflammatory and built around fresh ingredients, healthy fats and clean proteins, with no added sugars or ultra-processed ingredients, and alcohol-free cocktails alongside.
Much of the produce comes from Finca Althaya, ZEM's 200,000sqm organic estate, where more than 60 varieties of fruit and vegetables are grown using regenerative methods. Each guest's menu is adapted to their programme and metabolic profile, and cooking workshops share the approach so it can continue at home.

ZEM has 85 rooms and 10 suites, designed to support sleep and recovery with fresh air, filtered natural light and a direct connection to the outdoors. Every room has a private terrace with views over the sea, the mountains or the gardens, and marble bathrooms throughout. Some rooms add outdoor bathtubs and Turkish showers, and the larger suites include massage rooms and chill-out terraces, up to the 200sqm Altea Suite with panoramic views.
Location
ZEM sits in Altea Hills, above one of the prettiest towns on the Costa Blanca, with the Mediterranean in front and the Sierra de Bernia rising behind. Altea's old town, with its blue-domed church and whitewashed lanes, is a short drive down the hill. Alicante Airport is 45 minutes away, Valencia Airport around an hour and a half, and Madrid around two hours by train.
