The Water of Saturnia
For over 3,000 years, the thermal spring at Terme di Saturnia has flowed continuously at a constant 37.5°C, naturally replenishing 500 litres every 4 hours. Before emerging at Saturnia, the water travels underground for 40 years through 60 metres of clay — naturally filtered and enriched with a high concentration of minerals including sulphur, carbon dioxide, calcium and magnesium.
A distinctive feature of the spring is its natural thermal plankton — an organic-mineral substance that appears on contact with air, known for its skin benefits and used throughout the spa treatments and Active Beauty skincare range. The water improves and heals skin conditions, acts as a natural exfoliant and antiseptic, reduces blood pressure and supports cardiovascular function, enhances lung ventilation and promotes overall detoxification.

Terme di Saturnia sits within 120 hectares of Maremma countryside, with the natural hot spring at the centre of the resort feeding a network of outdoor thermal pools, Roman baths, whirlpools and vascular circuits. Five outdoor pools, hydropinical therapy, a Finnish sauna and the Argillarium mud therapy zone are all included in the stay. The Club — a Tuscan farmhouse day spa open to both guests and non-residents — has its own thermal pools, whirlpools, vascular paths, sauna and relaxation lounges with tea rooms.
