About Al Karob
Al Karob is an adults-only yoga hotel in the Algarve countryside outside Guia, near Albufeira, with ten rooms and daily yoga classes running throughout the week. The name comes from the Arabic prefix that runs through Algarve place names, a trace of the 400 years the region spent under Muslim rule, and the building follows the same line with horseshoe arches, carved doors and tiled arcades set around a pool.

Hotel Facilities
The villa is built in the Moorish style, with horseshoe arches, carved wooden doors and tiled arcades running along the ground floor. The outdoor pool sits in front of it with a sun terrace and loungers, and there are curtained daybeds set on the lawn beside it. Shaded seating runs under the arcades and through the garden.
Inside there is a games room and a breakfast room, and the yoga studio has a mirrored wall.
Wellness Facilities
Yoga runs daily except Sundays, in Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin, and is included in every stay. Classes take all levels. Aerial yoga is taught in the same studio, with silks rigged from the ceiling.
Treatments cover massage and bodywork. There is a relaxing full body massage and a deep tissue version, an Ayurvedic massage, hot stones, an aromatic candle massage and a signature they call Pure Bliss Fusion.
Alongside those are Tibetan healing bowls, lymphatic drainage, an aromatic body scrub, and a facial with a bio face mask and scalp massage.
The equipment side runs to PEMF and red light therapy, Adipologie® body contouring, Braintap and rTMS. Body composition analysis is available.
Dining
Breakfast is made from scratch and served between 8:30 and 10:30, with fresh orange juice, homemade jams and fruit alongside a buffet, continental and à la carte options. Vegetarian cooking runs throughout.
Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant when booked in advance, and the detox programme replaces them with soups and cold-pressed juices. Guia is five minutes away and the owner keeps a list of places worth eating at locally.

There are ten rooms, five with a double bed and five twin, and no two are alike, boasting a variety of colours and decor to suit every taste.
The Moorish detail runs through all of them, in keyhole arches over the beds, pierced metal lanterns and patterned textiles against white walls, with carved wooden doors and plasterwork throughout. Each room has its own bathroom with a bath or a shower, and the windows look onto the garden or the pool.
Location
Al Karob sits outside Guia, twenty minutes from Faro airport, in the farmland behind the Albufeira coast. Vineyards and orange groves run either side of the road in. Guia is a few minutes away and known across Portugal for its piri piri chicken, with the two-Michelin-starred Vila Joya on the coast below it. Galé is a short drive down through the fields, the beach the hotel uses for kayaking and surfing, with Salgados golf course on the way.
