If you’re after winter sun, wellness, and a little bit of indulgence without a long-haul flight, Baobab Suites in Costa Adeje ticks all the right boxes. Perched on a quiet hillside in Tenerife’s most exclusive resort town, this modern, all-suite hotel offers both privacy and comfort, with panoramic views to match.

From the moment I arrived, I could see why this place is so popular with couples and families alike: the suites are huge, the setting is serene, and there’s a perfect balance between activity and relaxation. Whether you're into Reformer Pilates, poolside lounging, or breakfast in your pyjamas with a view - Baobab makes it all feel easy.

A Peaceful Location with Big Views

Baobab Suites sits above Playa del Duque, arguably the best beach in the south of Tenerife. While the walk down to the promenade takes about 15 minutes, it’s a steep climb back up - but thankfully, the hotel provides complimentary taxi vouchers to make beach access hassle-free. If you'd rather explore, the shops, cafés, and restaurants of Costa Adeje are close by, but the peaceful hilltop setting gives you the feeling of being tucked away from it all.

At just 15 minutes from Tenerife South Airport and a 4-hour flight from the UK, it’s incredibly easy to reach, ideal if you’re craving sunshine without the jet lag.

My Suite: Private Jacuzzi and Home Comforts

I stayed in the Divinity Lago suite, and it felt more like a contemporary apartment than a hotel room. Think floor-to-ceiling windows, minimalist design, and tons of space. My private balcony came with a jacuzzi, daybed, and dining table—perfect for slow mornings with coffee or evening dips under the stars.

Inside, the suite had a king-size bed, a sleek bathroom with both a bath and walk-in shower, and a fully equipped kitchen (including a washing machine and Nespresso machine). It really did feel like a home away from home. A quick tip: bring your own coffee pods and laundry tablets to make the most of the amenities.

Baobab has 125 suites, some with private pools or side sea views, so there’s something to suit every type of traveller, from families to romantic getaways. While the glass balconies aren’t completely private, the overall vibe is peaceful and low-key.

The Food

One of my favourite features was the customisable breakfast box. You simply fill out a form the night before, and it’s delivered to your suite at your chosen time. Mine included fresh bread, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and coffee pods - and there was always enough to save leftovers for later.

Alternatively, there’s Fuel RestoBar at the sports centre, where I enjoyed a post-yoga smoothie and avocado toast, or BB Lounge Club, which offers a chic setting and gorgeous sea views. For a special treat, Sucás offers a Michelin-level tasting menu—perfect if you're celebrating something (or just fancy a fine-dining night in).

Reformer Pilates and Wellness Facilities

Wellness at Baobab is woven into every part of the experience. The on-site Activate Sports Club is an absolute gem for fitness lovers. I had a private Reformer Pilates class and left feeling stronger and more energised - something I’d been missing lately. They also offer group classes including yoga, TRX, spinning, and even aerial yoga classes, with a full weekly schedule (excluding Sundays).

For something more laid-back, the Nirama Wellness Centre offers both Ayurvedic and Western treatments, from massages to facials, all designed to leave you feeling rebalanced. After a few active days, I booked an Ayurvedic massage followed by a beach smoothie from Fuel - it was exactly what I needed.

There’s also a private beach area, rock climbing wall, and padel tennis courts, so it’s easy to stay active without ever leaving the property.
