About Hotel Botanico and The Oriental Spa Garden

Hotel Botánico & The Oriental Spa Garden is a five-star hotel in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, in the north of the island, set within 25,000 square metres of subtropical gardens with views of Mount Teide and the Atlantic. The first hotel in the Canary Islands to join The Leading Hotels of the World, it carries an art collection featuring works by César Manrique and Oscar Domínguez, alongside gardens with black swans, koi carp, a bonsai collection and an orchid house lit at night to evoke the atmosphere of 1001 Nights.

At the heart of the hotel is The Oriental Spa Garden — a 3,500sqm wellness facility set within its own garden, with a thermal circuit, heated pools and a team of nearly 30 specialists delivering holistic treatments and Asian and Ayurvedic-inspired rituals. The Oriental restaurant, inaugurated by H.M. Queen Sirikit of Thailand, has been part of the hotel since its earliest years.

Hotel Facilities

Hotel Botánico sits within 25,000 square metres of subtropical gardens in Puerto de la Cruz — bridges over koi ponds, black swans, a bonsai collection, an orchid house and lighting at night that evokes the atmosphere of 1001 Nights. Free guided tours of the botanical gardens are available throughout the stay, and a Kreisel jellyfish aquarium in the lobby — where Aurelia Aurita jellyfish drift through changing hues of pink, purple and gold — sets the tone on arrival. Inside, a library with pool tables and an international book collection, boutique shops and an art collection featuring César Manrique and Oscar Domínguez add to the cultural depth of the property.

Two tennis courts, a putting green, driving range, table tennis and a billiards room complete the active offer, with bike-friendly services available for guests wanting to explore the island. A free weekday shuttle runs to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz. The Botánico Kinder Aventura programme runs during school holidays with supervised activities including visits to Loro Parque, and a Botanical Brunch takes place every Sunday for guests and outside visitors.

Wellness Facilities

The Oriental Spa Garden spans 3,500sqm within its own garden setting — a thermal circuit, heated indoor and outdoor pools, Turkish bath, sauna and sensation showers, with access included for all guests aged 16 and over. A team of nearly 30 specialists delivers holistic massages using oils of gold, roses and volcanic stones, Asian and Ayurvedic-inspired rituals, beauty treatments and customised wellness programmes combining Eastern and Western therapeutic techniques. Two signature experiences stand out: the Golden Dragon Ritual — 150 minutes for couples with Turkish peeling, steam bath, jasmine wrap and gold oil massage — and the Canarian Ritual, an 80-minute homage to the island using sea salt, lemon, aloe vera and volcanic stone massage.

Dining

Restaurants open on a rotating basis throughout the stay, ensuring at least one is available every day.

La Parrilla serves Spanish cuisine with locally sourced ingredients, fresh market fish and vegetables from the hotel's own garden, with a Josper grill and wine cellar.

The Oriental is the hotel's fine dining Asian restaurant, inaugurated by H.M. Queen Sirikit of Thailand and led by a Thai team, with a special oven for Peking duck alongside the existing menu of Asian haute cuisine.

Il Pappagallo serves Italian and Mediterranean cuisine on a summer terrace with sea views over Puerto de la Cruz.

Palmera Real is the poolside restaurant, serving breakfast and casual lunches in the subtropical gardens.

Bar Hall offers cocktails, wines, coffee and snacks with live music every afternoon and Canarian art from the 19th and 20th centuries on the walls.

Brunelli's is the hotel's steakhouse, located across from Loro Parque, with ocean views and a team of 14 professionals selecting and preparing premium cuts.
