04

Active women wanting a countryside escape within easy reach of London

One hour from London Victoria, with formats from a weekend to two full weeks and international camps in Greece and Thailand.

The Experience

The approach is straightforward — not a quick fix or a diet, but a genuine shift in how the body and mind approach fitness and healthy living. Days start at 6:30am and cover morning walks, strength training, boxing, running, Bums & Tums, weight sessions and an assault course, with ice baths for recovery, with three freshly prepared meals daily and a Wednesday massage for week-long guests. A maximum of 16 women per camp and two military-trained instructors ensures every participant gets real individual attention — the highest trainer-to-client ratio of any residential bootcamp in the UK.

Hotel Facilities

GI Jane camps take place at Scuttington Manor House in Sittingbourne, Kent — a traditional countryside manor in the heart of the Garden of England, surrounded by fields, farms and country lanes that form the backdrop for the daily walks and outdoor sessions. Most women arrive alone and are paired with a roommate on arrival.

Wellness Facilities

The programme runs from 6:30am each day — morning walks, Iron Soldier strength training, Bums & Tums, running, boxing, weight sessions, Bucket Ball and an assault course, with ice baths for recovery at the end of the afternoon. Fitness is assessed on arrival and every session adapted to each participant's level throughout the stay. One massage is included for week-long guests, with additional massages (except on weekends) available at extra cost.

Dining

All meals are freshly prepared on site by the bootcamp chef — 1,200 calories a day across five meals and snacks, covering all food groups and designed to fuel 3,000-4,000 calories of daily activity. The approach removes what GI Jane calls CRAP from the diet — Caffeine, Refined carbohydrates, Alcohol and Processed foods — while keeping the food satisfying and varied. An on-site nutritionist gives each guest an individual lifestyle review during the camp, and guests leave with recipes, meal plans and a 21-day challenge to take home. Dietary requirements and allergies are catered for on request.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is GI Jane Bootcamp and what makes it special?

GI Jane Bootcamp is a women-only residential fitness retreat at Scuttington Manor House in Sittingbourne, Kent — one hour from London and open to women of all ages, abilities and fitness levels. With a maximum of 16 participants and two military-trained instructors per camp, it has the highest trainer-to-client ratio of any residential bootcamp in the UK. Since the first camp in April 2009 it has helped thousands of women improve their fitness, lose weight and build lasting healthy habits — with many returning year after year.

What does a typical day look like at GI Jane Bootcamp?

Days start at 6:30am with a morning walk and briefing, followed by a full day of training — Iron Soldier strength sessions, Bums & Tums, running, boxing, weight training, Bucket Ball and an assault course. Ice baths at 5:30pm aid muscle recovery before dinner. One massage is included for week-long guests, with additional massages available at extra cost. Lights out is at 8:00pm.

What is the nutrition approach at GI Jane?

All meals are freshly prepared on site by the bootcamp chef — 1,200 calories a day across five meals and snacks, covering all food groups and designed to fuel 3,000-4,000 calories of daily activity. Is GI Jane Bootcamp suitable for weight loss?

GI Jane is designed as a women's weight loss and wellness bootcamp as much as a fitness retreat — the combination of 3,000-4,000 calories of daily activity, a structured 1,200-calorie meal plan and the CRAP-free nutrition approach is designed to kickstart genuine change. The on-site nutritionist provides an individual lifestyle review during the camp and guests leave with meal plans and a 21-day challenge to continue the work at home.

Is GI Jane Bootcamp suitable for beginners?

GI Jane welcomes women of all fitness levels — every session is adapted to individual capacity from a fitness assessment on arrival.
