Clinique la Prairie
Longevity, Cellular Therapy and Preventive Medicine
About Clinique la Prairie
Clinique La Prairie has focused on longevity and preventive medicine for nearly 90 years — one of the few clinics in the world where that claim is grounded in continuous research and clinical practice rather than positioning. Located in Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva, it operates as a physician-led medical clinic with a residential setting, combining advanced diagnostics, longevity science and personalised programmes under the supervision of more than 50 doctors across 30 specialities.
The Revitalisation Programme is the clinic's longest-standing offering, built around the CLP Extract developed here since 1992 and delivered under physician supervision as part of the CLP Longevity Method™. Every stay begins with the Longevity Master Assessment — a set of screenings that measures key longevity markers, estimates biological age and shapes the programme that follows.

CLP Longevity Method
The CLP Longevity Method™ runs through every programme at Clinique La Prairie as a continuous five-stage cycle. It opens with the Longevity Master Assessment — a set of screenings measuring the key longevity markers and establishing a baseline. Those results are run through predictive algorithms to estimate biological age and the pace at which the body is ageing, which is the point at which this diverges from a conventional health check.
What comes back shapes the programme. Interventions are selected across four pillars — medical, nutrition, movement and wellbeing — with the aim of addressing age-related risk before it presents. The fifth stage continues after departure, with biomarkers measured before, during and after the stay so the effect of each intervention can be tracked over time.
Two proprietary elements sit beneath the method. The CLP Extract, refined here since 1992, combines bio-stimulants, supplements and therapies and forms the basis of the Revitalisation programme. Purified stem cell therapy has run alongside since 2019, working on tissue repair and collagen production. Genetic and epigenetic testing and nutrigenomics feed into both, supported by a research collaboration with Biopôle Lausanne, the Swiss life sciences campus.
Hotel Facilities
The three buildings at Clinique La Prairie sit in a large garden facing Lake Geneva, with terraces and seating throughout. Reception opens into a lounge overlooking the water, with a tea bar alongside serving herbal infusions and infused waters through the day. A hair and beauty salon and boutique sit off reception.
The heated indoor pool runs along a glass wall with the lake and Alps directly in front of it, with a hot tub and relaxation lounge alongside. Walking and running along the lake are part of the outdoor offering, with hiking in the mountains nearby. Yoga, Pilates and breathwork sessions are available when prescribed in the programme.
Wellness Facilities
The Medical Centre is a contemporary glass building on the lake, housing consultation rooms, laboratories and diagnostic suites. More than 50 doctors work on site across 30 specialities. Screening covers DNA and epigenetic testing, nutrigenomics, blood analysis and molecular imaging, supported by a scientific committee, a life sciences division and a research collaboration with Biopôle Lausanne. Stem cells are extracted, purified and treated by Swiss laboratories before reinjection, with harvested cells bankable for up to 30 years. The aesthetic side covers focused ultrasound, tensor threads, cryolipolysis, injectables and laser peels — all non-surgical.
The spa runs to around 1,600sqm with a sauna, hammam and Kneipp path. The hydrotherapy complex includes sensorial showers and an ice fountain, and a private spa suite comes with its own hammam and hot tub. Eighteen treatment cabins offer reflexology and massage alongside cryotherapy, far-infrared therapy, photostimulation and cellular light therapy. A ZeroBody dry floating bed holds the body at its own temperature without water contact. Neuro Waves combines acoustic and vibrational therapy for deep relaxation, and an icepod cryotherapy chamber runs at -110°C. Facials use La Prairie skincare.
The fitness centre has cardio and strength equipment connected to the MyWellness tracking platform, a functional training area with a Kinesis wall and TRX, and an outdoor terrace for conditioning work. Movement is one of the four pillars, assessed before it is prescribed, covering flexibility, posture, coordination, muscle mass, strength and endurance. Visual and sensory motor training is also available.
Dining
Nutrition is one of the four pillars at Clinique La Prairie, built on an evidence-based approach covering inflammation, oxidative stress, metabolic function and the gut microbiota. Nutritionists work alongside the kitchen so the food matches each programme — three menus run across the property: Longevity, Master Detox and Healthy Weight. Breakfast and a three-course dinner follow whichever applies. Dinner is plant-based across all three menus.
The cooking leans on plants — legumes, cereals, vegetables, fruit, herbs, spices and healthy oils — alongside fermented and fibre-rich foods. Plant proteins are the default, with fish or white meat a couple of times a week. Ingredients are locally sourced, with full vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options prepared as standard.
SEEDS is the restaurant, headed by David Alessandria — trained in starred kitchens in Belgium and Luxembourg, and awarded Meilleur Ouvrier de France in 2022.

Accommodation
Clinique La Prairie has 59 rooms and suites across three buildings. The Château is the main hotel building, set on higher ground overlooking the lake, with most rooms having a terrace or balcony looking across the water and mountains. The Résidence is the original early twentieth-century building, facing the French garden, with every room and suite having a balcony overlooking the garden and lake. The Medical Centre holds the remainder behind its glass facades.
Location
Clinique La Prairie sits on Rue du Lac at Clarens, on the Montreux waterfront, with Lake Geneva directly in front and the Alps rising across the water. Geneva Airport is around an hour by road and Zurich around two. The buildings stand in a large garden running down to the lake, and the historic residence where Dr Niehans began his cellular research is still there, with its original yellow awnings.
Montreux itself is a short walk along the lakeside promenade, with the Château de Chillon further along the shore and the Jazz Festival taking over the town each July.

Seven programmes are available — Revitalisation, Revitalisation Premium, Master Detox, Healthy Weight, Brain Potential, Beauty Stem Cells and Life Reset, the clinic's mental wellness programme. No. Many guests attend Clinique La Prairie for preventive health, longevity support, or to gain a clearer understanding of their current health status. All programmes begin with medical assessment to determine suitability and focus.

Programme durations vary depending on individual goals, but stays of one to two weeks are common for guests seeking comprehensive assessment and health optimisation. Shorter or longer stays may be available depending on the programme and medical guidance.
