If you’ve ever wished for a tropical escape without the long-haul flight, Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa in Costa Blanca is the answer. Just 40 minutes from Alicante Airport, this luxurious resort brings the calming essence of Southeast Asia to the Mediterranean. Think lush gardens, wooden bridges over koi-filled ponds, and the scent of frangipani in the air - it's a hidden paradise, and the moment I arrived, I felt worlds away from everyday life.

A Warm Welcome to Tranquillity
The check-in experience set the tone beautifully. I was greeted with a chilled towel and refreshing drink before walking through the hotel’s low-lit, teak wood entrance into a world of tropical calm. Despite the hotel being fully booked during my stay, it never felt crowded. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, with winding paths, waterfalls, and quiet corners to relax and reflect.
Everywhere I turned, I found something new - a tucked-away pavilion, a bridge leading to a lily pond, or a quiet daybed to lie back and soak up the sun. It was one of those rare places that feels spacious and intimate all at once.

Elegant Balinese Rooms with Garden Views
I stayed in a Deluxe Superior Room, decorated in warm tones and Balinese-style furnishings that immediately made me feel at home. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated little touches like a Nespresso machine, fluffy robes, and bath salts for a soak in the spacious tub. My private balcony overlooked the gardens, and I loved waking up to the gentle sounds of water and birdsong.
Guests staying in suites have access to the exclusive Thai Club pools, which are ideal if you're looking for added peace and privacy - especially in high season.

Thai Spa Serenity
The Thai Spa is a true highlight at Asia Gardens. Tucked away from the main hotel area, it’s a peaceful sanctuary of its own. I started my spa afternoon with a cup of herbal tea, wrapped in a soft robe, and settled into the serene indoor-outdoor pool area.
Treatments are inspired by ancient Asian traditions, and I was thrilled to learn that the therapists are trained at Wat Po Temple in Bangkok - the birthplace of Thai massage. I opted for a traditional Thai massage followed by a soothing foot ritual in one of the spa’s open-air pavilions. It was every bit as rejuvenating as it sounds.
The spa also offers holistic classes, from yoga and meditation to Tai Chi and Chi Kung, ideal for grounding both body and mind.
Dining: A Feast for the Senses
Food at Asia Gardens is a real treat. With nine restaurants (rotating seasonally), you’ll find everything from authentic Asian cuisine at Koh Samui to Mediterranean flavours at Udaipur. I enjoyed light bites at the pool bar and dinner under the stars, where each meal felt like a special occasion.
Breakfast was a standout. There was something for everyone - fresh fruit, smoothies, omelettes made to order, Spanish hams, cheeses, pastries, and even a gluten-free corner for guests with dietary requirements. It was impossible not to go back for seconds (or thirds!).
